About Ms. Muzzi
Cindy Muzzi is the Assistant Director of the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP), a Tennessee Center of Excellence. During her 17 years at CREP, she has led the design and implementation of mixed-method evaluations for numerous federally and state-funded initiatives spanning education, workforce development, maternal and child health, and community-based programs. Her work includes projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education, HRSA, NSF, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, and the Virginia Department of Education. Ms. Muzzi has extensive experience leading large-scale, multi-site, and multi-state evaluations, including Virginia's statewide 21st Century Community Learning Centers evaluation, which serves more than 130 program sites annually. She specializes in evaluation design, performance measurement, qualitative data collection and analysis, survey development, stakeholder engagement, continuous quality improvement, and translating evaluation findings into actionable recommendations that support program improvement and decision-making.
As Assistant Director, Ms. Muzzi provides strategic leadership for CREP's research operations, overseeing project implementation, grant management, research compliance, personnel, and data management across a diverse portfolio of sponsored projects. She also collaborates with faculty investigators on proposal development, evaluation planning, and technical reporting while mentoring research staff and graduate assistants.
A native Memphian and two-time graduate of the University of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½, Ms. Muzzi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology and Research. She enjoys building collaborative partnerships with researchers, educators, community organizations, and government agencies to strengthen programs through rigorous evaluation and applied research.
