In early April 2018, students in our Housing Adjudication Clinic presented at the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Housing Authority's Landlord Symposium to over 100 attendees. ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Law students Amy Harper and Halle Priester presented on the regulatory obligations of landlords and subsidized tenants under MHA and HUD regulations; additionally, Konner Bramlett co-presented on Housing Quality Standards Inspections.

The symposium, which was held at the Benjamin L. Hooks Library on April 13, was a free event intended to provide current and prospective Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program landlords an opportunity to learn about HCV program and how it works. Topics also included: code enforcement, energy conservation, fair housing, lead-based paint, owner & tenant obligations and weatherization.

These students were part of an expert-laden program with representatives from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Housing Authority, the Housing Choice Voucher Program, ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Area Legal Services, Emphasys Software, the Department of Housing & Community Development, ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Light, Gas & Water and more.

Additionally, Professor Daniel Schaffzin, director of experiential learning and co-director of the Neighborhood Preservation Clinic at the University of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ School of Law, gave a symposium presentation about Neighborhood Preservation in ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ and the law school's related clinic and their work.
