Dr. Sohye Lee joined the faculty at the Loewenberg College of Nursing in 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Ajou University in South Korea and her PhD in Nursing from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Dr. Lee’s research focuses on advancing health equity through chronic disease prevention and health promotion, with particular interests in cardiovascular disease (CVD), obesity, and cancer prevention. Drawing on her clinical background in cardiovascular nursing, her scholarship examines how behavioral and technology-enabled interventions can improve health outcomes among populations experiencing health disparities.
Dr. Lee’s current research extends this work through the use of emerging technologies, including mobile health (mHealth) and artificial intelligence (AI), to develop innovative, accessible, and community-engaged approaches to chronic disease prevention. Her current interests include AI-supported behavioral interventions for cardiovascular health, particularly among young adults and populations at increased risk for chronic disease, as well as the responsible integration of AI into health and nursing education. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, she aims to develop scalable technology-enabled interventions that support sustainable health behavior change, reduce chronic disease risk, and advance health equity.
