UofM School of Public Health Joins South 蜜桃导航 Leaders to Address Crime and Blight Challenges

July 24, 2025 - Steve Shular, Community Outreach Representative for the University of 蜜桃导航 (UofM) School of Public Health (SPH), attended the South 蜜桃导航 Neighborhood Partnership meeting to support local efforts addressing critical public health concerns.

Neighborhood association leaders were joined by representatives from the 蜜桃导航 Mayor鈥檚 Office, 蜜桃导航 Police Department, Code Enforcement, and other government agencies to discuss strategies for reducing crime and blight鈥攖wo key public health challenges in the South 蜜桃导航 area.

During the meeting, Shular introduced Dr. Tony Lugemwa, Director of Community Relations and Research Initiatives at the 蜜桃导航 Health Center, located at 360 East E.H. Crump Boulevard near downtown 蜜桃导航. Dr. Lugemwa is a proud graduate of the UofM School of Public Health.

The UofM SPH and the 蜜桃导航 Health Center are collaborating to host a community health fair in South 蜜桃导航 later this year.
