Mission Statement
Founded in Fall, 2023, the UM3D sponsored AI Community of Practice is a forum for invited UofM faculty and staff to discuss the potential benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI), in particular Large Language Models (LLMs), in teaching and learning.
Goals
- Educate and Inform: Enhance our own awareness about the potentials, challenges, ethical implications, and current applications of LLMs in higher education by sharing and analyzing resources.
- Provide Practice: Provide a safe and welcoming space to experiment and learn new technologies.
- Collaborate and Network: Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and networking.
- Create, Share, and Recommend Resources: Compile and analyze articles related to AI/LLMs in higher education; create and share best practices; share our CoP experience and lessons learned; present our findings for the benefit of the broader university academic population and beyond.
