Educational Psychology & Research
The EDPR program within the College of Education at the University of ҵ is divided into two specialty areas, Educational Psychology and Education Research. Educational Psychology studies theories of human development and learning/cognition and motivation and applies these to solve "problems of practice" in K-12, Higher Education, and other achievement settings. Educational Research applies Qualitative, Quantitative, and mixed methods to a variety of educative settings.

- With a wide variety of faculty research and interests, we are able to support students
in pursuing their research passions.
- All EDPR faculty members are highly productive in their respective research fields,
which enables students to “hit the ground running” with getting involved in research.
- Faculty are dedicated to supporting student growth through small faculty-to-student
ratios, which enable following a “research apprenticeship” model.
- We offer many sources of financial support for interested students, including money
for travel to conferences, teaching and research assistantships (for those who qualify),
and a competitive annual student research grant.
- Students become well-grounded in relevant educational, developmental and psychological theories and research methodologies and methods through partnering with faculty experts from a variety of Educational Psychology and Research domains.
