Asian Studies Academic Programs

The Asian Studies Program provides students with a multidisciplinary framework to examine the histories, languages, philosophies, and contemporary issues shaping Asia and the Asian diaspora.

Major in Asian Studies (27 Credit Hours)

The Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies combines language acquisition, broad historical foundation, and specialized thematic inquiry.

Complete 6 credit hours at the 3000-level or above in:

  • Korean (KOR)

  • Approved World Languages and Literatures (WDLL) courses related to Asia (language or culture-focused).

Senior Capstone Project (3 Credit Hours)

  • UNIV 4995 – Senior Project: An original research, applied, or creative capstone project completed in your final semester under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

Minor in Asian Studies (16 Credit Hours)

The Asian Studies minor provides students from any major with an interdisciplinary introduction to Asia’s histories, cultures, languages, and societies.
