Healthcare Career Academy
The Healthcare Career Academy (HCA) equips individuals and employer groups with the essential knowledge and skills needed to embark on rewarding careers in the medical field. We offer specialized programs for individuals looking to jump start their career, and partner with healthcare organizations to deliver exclusive, tailored training for their employees. We are committed to developing the next generation of health professionals and strengthening the healthcare workforce.
Community Programs
Our Community Programs, including Medical Assisting, EMT, and Lifestyle Medicine, are open to the public and provide hands-on training that prepares individuals for in-demand health careers while supporting healthier communities.
Corporate Partnerships
These HCA programs are designed for healthcare organizations* interested in partnering with us to train their current or future employees in various allied health fields. These programs are tailored to the individual organization's needs, providing concierge services to build and develop the workforce.

In partnership with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, our 5-month Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program prepares students with the content knowledge, psychomotor skills, personal interactions and behavior learning domains to effectively function as an EMT. The program consists of classroom time with lecture and hands-on skills training sessions along with virtual tools to prepare those who wish to obtain national certification and state licensure as an EMT. |

Eligible medical assistants can participate in a 9-month hybrid program (online and in-person training) that will prepare the individual to obtain radiographs of the core, chest, extremities, skull and sinuses. This program is approved by the State of TN Board of Medical Examiners and prepares learners to sit for the AART’s Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography examination. Students will have the opportunity to complete clinical hours to obtain experience in the clinical setting prior to program completion. |

In addition to our community program, we partner with organizations to provide training for their employees to sit for the National Healthcare Association’s Certified Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA) examination. Through engaging online content and optional clinical add-ons, employers can fill crucial roles in as little as six months. |

| Phlebotomy |
Our eight-week program provides interested individuals with the knowledge and clinical skills need to become a certified phlebotomy technician. During the course, students will be presented with engaging content and hands-on experiences to prepare for the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. |

| Surgical Technology |
Our 15-month program is designed to provide didactic and clinical instruction that allows students to perform as competent, entry-level surgical technologists after completion. Coursework is done through an online platform during the entire program. The program is accredited by CAAHEP, allowing the students to sit for their certification exam through the NBSTSA. |

| Lifestyle Medicine |
Our Lifestyle Medicine Specialist Course trains professionals to deliver research-based guidance on nutrition, activity, sleep, stress, and connection—equipping your organization with specialists who fill a vital gap in healthcare by supporting providers, improving patient outcomes, and advancing a culture of prevention and well-being. |
*These programs are NOT offered to traditional degree-seeking University of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ students at this time.
